Intel has announced its latest Xeon processor family designed for professional users. The new series to be released by the giant company includes the Xeon W-3500 and Xeon W-2500 desktop workstation processors.

According to information from Intel, the flagship of the series, the 60-core Xeon w9-3595X processor, will stand out as a strong option for engineers and software developers working in areas that require intensive processing power, especially artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning.

Intel Vice President Roger Chandler stated that Intel has been providing a trusted platform for professionals such as software developers, scientists and engineers for nearly 20 years and said, “Every innovation we make increases the capacity of these professionals to change the world. The Xeon W-3500 and W-2500 series that we introduced today are designed to meet the demands of innovative minds around the world .”

The new Xeon W-3500 series has 60 cores and 120 threads, which is 4 to 8 more cores than the previous-generation W-3400 series and offers up to 10 percent more multi-threaded performance. The W-2500 series has 26 cores and 52 threads, which is 2 more cores and 11 percent more multi-threaded performance than the previous-generation W-2400.

The Xeon processor family continues to offer high performance at affordable prices. The W-3500 series processors support turbo frequencies of up to 4.8 GHz and L3 cache capacity goes up to 112.5 MB. In addition, memory capacity of up to 4 TB is promised with 8-channel DDR5 RDIMM memory support. The Xeon W-2500 series provides expandability for multiple GPU, SSD and network card connections with PCIe Gen 5.0 support.
